University of Leeds MOOC “Exploring Anatomy: The Human Abdomen” enrolling now


The University of Leeds free online course, Exploring Anatomy: The Human Abdomen starts on 6th April, and is led by Associate Professor Dr James Pickering,  awarded the Times Higher Education Most Innovative Teacher of the Year, 2014. The course also draws on the expertise of specialist surgeons, pathologists and radiologists.

The course is designed for students and medical/healthcare professionals providing practical insights into anatomical knowledge using:

  • Clinical scenarios to understand  the complex anatomy of the abdomen
  • Video animations outlining the functions of major organs with detailed commentary from experts
  • Case studies featuring surgeons discussing how innovative research is improving patient outcomes

For those enhancing their professional skills, the course has been certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to continuing professional development principles. By completing the course you will have achieved 12 hours of CPD time.
