Surgical Clinical Trials: from idea to delivery

The Carriageworks
Useful for
Clinicians & NIHR

This collaborative event will showcase the range of surgical trial activity currently being led from within Yorkshire and the Humber and the expertise available within the region to support the design and delivery of successful, high quality surgical trials. The event is jointly hosted by the region’s two Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Trials Centres based at the Universities of Leeds and York, the NIHR Clinical Research Network Yorkshire & Humber, the NIHR Research Design Service Yorkshire and Humber, and the Yorkshire Surgical Research Collaborative.

Aimed at both established research surgeons and surgical trainees, the event will highlight opportunities and barriers to surgical research, as well as the chance for more informal discussions about new research ideas or research career development goals with members of the Surgical Trials Centre teams and NIHR RDS.

The main meeting will close around 3pm, with a follow-on meeting taking place from 3.30pm – 5.30pm which will be hosted by the region’s surgical trainee research collaboratives: Yorkshire Surgical Research Collaborative (YSRC); South Yorkshire Surgical Research Group (SYSuRG); Northern Surgical Trainee Research Association (NoSTRA).

Attendance is free and refreshments will be provided.
